The word aficionado describes someone who is passionately interested in a particular activity or subject—often something pursued for pleasure, like music, food, wine, film, art, or sports. It's more than simply liking something; it usually implies informed enthusiasm: not necessarily professional expertise, but the kind of familiarity that comes from paying attention, having opinions, and keeping up with the details.
