Description

A Chihuahua is the smallest recognized dog breed in the world, known for its big personality packed into a tiny frame! Originating from Mexico, these little dogs are named after the state of Chihuahua. They are famous for being loyal companions, often bonding strongly with one person. You might picture a Chihuahua shivering in a sweater or bravely (and loudly!) confronting much larger dogs.

While some Chihuahuas are calm and quiet, others are known to be quite vocal. Their high-pitched barks have earned them a reputation for being "yappy," but that is simply part of their protective charm. They come in two coat types: smooth (short-haired) and long-haired. You will often see them as accessories carried in handbags, though they definitely deserve to be seen as more than just a fashion statement!
