Description

Imagine your body as a busy city with something happening all the time. Just as a city needs regular trash pickup to stay clean, your body needs ways to remove the waste made by its daily work. That is where the excretory system comes in. It refers to the biological processes that remove metabolic waste from a living thing.

Think of sweating on a hot day, peeing after drinking water, or breathing out carbon dioxide. These are all examples of excretory functions. While people often think of waste as solid matter, this word is mainly about the chemical waste the body produces as it works. It is an important part of keeping the inside of the body balanced and working well.
