Description

Halftime is the break between the two halves of a game, especially in sports such as football or basketball. It is the time when players rest, coaches talk to the team, and the crowd may watch a short show or leave their seats for a few minutes. People sometimes also use the word in a loose, figurative way for the middle of some longer activity, but its main meaning is still the break in a game.
